Well, I formatted and re-installed everything on this F-tec laptop.

We also had a heck of a time upgrading the ram on it.

The cpu's FSB is 533, but it runs pc3200. There's very little information online about this model of laptop though!

Finally, however, we managed to find a place that located ram that works. 1 gig of 3200 for this laptop cost 169 ringgit. . . ouch.

If it had been a little bit newer ram then it would have cost less than half that!

After the ram uprade this computer is running great.

The internet connection here, however, is NOT so great. We have broadband (DSL) however I have seen dialup speeds faster than this before. Oh well.
