The Beach *****100th post!*****

Today Siew and I were very bored here at home.

Neither of us could decide what to do.

Finally, Siew suggested going to youth park to go hiking up the hill there. I felt lazy to hike and the park would be crowded because today is the last day of school holidays here.

So, I suggested going to the beach to dig for clams.

We got ready and left. When we were only a few meters down the road, Siew's sister called us and asked us to come back so she could go with us. What's funny about that is I had asked Siew if she had asked her sister to go or not before we left. Siew thought that her sister was sleeping and didn't want to disturb her!

When we got to the beach we found that the tides were quite high. This is the first time I have been to the beach when the tides here were so high!

Digging for clams proved to be nearly impossible. Clams tend to be lower in the water than we could comfortably go to dig and still remain somewhat dry.

So, instead, we walked the beach and played in the waves a little. We were not prepared for submersion however, so we did our best not to get too wet.

There were lots of kids at the beach. Apparently they were trying to enjoy their last day of freedom from school!

There was this pretty puppy playing on the beach. She was having fun running around saying hi to people. She ran after the waves once, and then turned tail and ran hard to avoid getting wet. She was very sweet and seemed well-cared for, but no one seemed to be claiming her.

We played with her for some time. Then someone picked her up and was playing very rough with her. Luckily not long after that her real owner came out and claimed her. Apparently she had escaped!

Siew and I walked down the beach until we found where a hotel let out onto the beach, we walked inside and used the facilities there and realized that it would be very easy to abuse their swimming facilities as well. We did not do it, this time anyway.

Next time we go to the beach we'll have to prepare for high and low tides both so we can dig for clams on low-tide, and play in the waves on high-tide!

  1. Aww that sounds like so much fun! I'd love to one day go digging for clams.
I'd also love to live within walking distance from the beach!
    I'm highly jealous :D

  2. We live within walking distance of the sea. But the place nearby doesn't have a beach we can access. But it's only a few minutes drive to a place that has lots of beaches. :-)
Too bad the water here isn't as clear as the water at Langkawi. That place has picturesque waters!

  3. Oh wow. I looked up Langkawi and it is breathtaking! I could never imagine myself in a million years being able to see something as beautiful of a place as that.
I was born in the wrong country. :(

  4. You'll just have to visit and we'll take you and Camtron to some places like that. :-)

  5. That would be amazing! I would love it if we could visit you and Siew someday! :D

Camron and I have talked many times about in the (probably very far) future moving out of the United States but it just seems like such a difficult task.
I think it's amazing that you met Siew and moved there. It's like a fairy tale. :)
