Ok, so I've taken over the Grammar 101 class completely.
I feel in over my head, and I probably am. I have to hold my breath and keep swimming up so I can get to the top in order to survive.
It's a bit rough taking over a class mid-session and having to teach something I've never taught before. I am managing though.
I do have a complaint. Where I work right now there is a person who causes a lot of problems for students and staff alike.
I do not know her exact title, but she is roughly the second person in charge of the place.
When she took over one of my classes when I was gone to have my teeth checked out my students begged me not to go! They didn't want her to teach them.
She observed my 101 class. When she observed, on the 5 minute break, she heavily criticized me in front of what students were still in the room. She criticized me for things that I have never been told, and had no way of knowing without being told (it's not documented anywhere!).
I damned near quit/cussed her out right then and there. They need me more than I need them!
After I am stable there, I think there will likely be an altercation between her and I to resolve how you treat people.
I was so heated about what she said! Later, I was talking to a co-worker who expressed that he's had problems with her as well, and that many staff have been chased off because of her over the short time that he's been there.
Apparently another teacher there nearly left this past week as well, for the same reason. What a lot of bullshit.
